Discovering Tockington Park: A Wedding Venue with a Story to Tell
Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of visiting Tockington Park for a styled shoot, where I filmed the venue and captured its character from the ground and in the air using my drone. Since then, I've been lucky enough to return, and my latest visit gave me another opportunity to appreciate what makes this wedding venue so special. I recently attended a wedding suppliers' social event organised by Little Wedding Meetups, where we were given a tour of Tockington Park and learned more about the story behind the venue.
From an Old Farm Barn to a Wedding Venue
One of the highlights of the visit was hearing from the owners, Gemma-Jane and Ed, about the journey they've been on over the past eight years. They shared how they've worked to transform an old farm barn into the incredible wedding venue it is today. Hearing about the time, effort and vision that have gone into the project made seeing the finished venue even more special. It's always interesting to learn the story behind a place, particularly when you can see just how much work has gone into creating somewhere for couples to celebrate their wedding day.

Connecting with Other Wedding Suppliers
The event was also a great opportunity to meet other talented wedding professionals, including photographers, florists and celebrants. I always find these gatherings inspiring. It's great to see what other suppliers are doing, exchange ideas and build connections with people who share a passion for creating memorable wedding experiences. As a wedding videographer, I love being part of this community. Everyone brings something different to a wedding day, and getting to know other suppliers helps build those relationships before we're working together at a real wedding.
Capturing Tockington Park on Film
My connection with Tockington Park began earlier this year when I visited for a styled shoot. I spent time filming different aspects of the venue, capturing its surroundings with my drone and putting together a short cinematic reel showcasing the location.
What made the experience particularly rewarding was discovering that the venue had chosen to feature my film prominently on the homepage of its website. I hadn't expected my work to be used in that way, so it was fantastic to see the film helping to showcase the venue to prospective couples. It's always rewarding to know that something you've created is appreciated and is being used to tell a venue's story.
Looking Forward to Filming a Wedding Here
Having visited Tockington Park several times this year, I've become increasingly familiar with the venue and what it has to offer. The styled shoot gave me the chance to explore it through my camera, while the recent suppliers' event helped me understand more about its history and the people behind it.
I'm now looking forward to the opportunity to return as a wedding videographer and capture a couple's special day there. Every venue has its own atmosphere and story, and I think getting to know a location before filming a wedding is a valuable part of the process. It helps me appreciate the details that make a place unique and consider how best to capture them on film. I'm grateful to Gemma-Jane and Ed for sharing their story, and to Little Wedding Meetups for bringing local wedding suppliers together for such an enjoyable event.
I’m very proud to have my work on the front page of Tockington Park’s website!
